Penguin Couple Figurines

This five inch tall, hand painted ceramic penguin couple dates from 1960's Japan. The penguins are hollow, in excellent condition and one of the penguins has a little holder behind his back. Perhaps for toothpicks? Very interesting and collectible piece.
