This hardcover copy ofPenguin Island by Anatole France was published by Heritage in 1947. The book is hardcover and a large size 10" x 7" with 324 facinating, bizarre penguin pages. Illustrated by Malcolm Cameron this copy is in very good condition with a slide in hard cover dust jacket.  This early twentieth-century classic satire of French history in which an island of penguins are accidentally baptized in mistake for men. Translated from the French by A. W. Evans; with an introduction by Carl Van Doren and a preface by the author. This copy also includes a copy of Sandglass, a separate 4 page overview by The Heritage Club also put out in 1947. The book is in very good to excellent condition.
